ECG is recommended as part of the initial work-up in patients with or suspected to have Valvular Heart Disease to establish rhythm, left ventricular function, and presence or absence of myocardial hypertrophy.10 For patients with concern for atrial fibrillation, ECG is indicated to diagnose the arrhythmia.
The GE MUSE NX system offers the ability to easily compare ECGs to quickly identify if any ECG changes are new or consistent with previous abnormalities. This functionality not only identifies patients who need further work-up but prevents unnecessary testing by quickly assessing for previously identified abnormalities. In a Value- Based environment, the ability to reduce unnecessary testing is crucial.11
